Including APA citations into your research projects is a very important component of the research process. When you include citations, you’re being a responsible researcher. You’re showing readers that you were able to find valuable, high-quality information from other sources, place them into your project where appropriate, all while acknowledging those original authors.
A Digital Object identifier (DOI) is a unique code, which provides a permanent link to an online resource. The most common resources to include a DOI are electronic journal articles.
These are treated like books if they are published, but like personal communication if they are your own notes or unpublished. Lecture notes are considered published if they have been copied and distributed in print or on the web with the instructor's permission.
As with any published reference, the goals of a citation to online material are to credit the author and to enable the reader to find the material.
For images, tables or data used with the permission of another party, treat as you would a personal communication. Cite in text only and do not include in the reference list.

APA created APA style format in 6979 in order to form a standard way for researchers in the science fields to document their sources. Some units advise that it is not acceptable to cite from lectures or accompanying notes provided by the lecturer. Cite only if you have been given permission to do so. Cite lectures in text as you would other personal communication. Do not provide an entry in the reference list.

Technically speaking, there's no "APA style bibliography." A traditional bibliography is a list of all the sources consulted while you research and write. Some people use the term "bibliography" more loosely, however, to mean the list of works cited in an article. You should provide a list of the works you directly cite in an APA-formatted paper. APA style calls this list a references page.
